Although F.P. (Skeet Ulrich) is behind bars for now on "Riverdale", it seems like he will be staying put in the upcoming sophomore season. The series has upped Skeet to series regular for the new season, Deadline reports. "Orange Is the New Black" star Jessica Pimentel is also promoted to series regular for season 5 of Netflix's series.
"We so loved having Skeet on 'Riverdale' last year, that we couldn't imagine 'Riverdale' without him," the series executive producer Sarah Schecter said. She continued, "He's a stellar actor and we feel we have just scratched the surface of who FP is. We are excited to have Skeet continue on this journey and we can't wait for the audience to see what he is up to this year."
Skeet appeared in seven episodes of the first season of "Riverdale", playing the leader of the Southside Serpents who has a complicated relationship with his estranged son Jughead (Cole Sprouse). He will join the Archie Comics-themed series' regular cast, including KJ Apa (Archie), Lili Reinhart (Betty), Sprouse (Jughead), Camila Mendes (Veronica) and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl).
Meanwhile, Jessica, who plays a character named Maria Ruiz, has been promoted to a full-fledged series regular for season 5 of "Orange Is the New Black". Maria is a character which is noticeably growing into a key part of the storyline of the Netlfix drama.
The upcoming season 5 takes place in real time over the course of three days, revolving around the inmates' fight for redemption, resolution and respect after Poussey's death sparked a riot at the end of last season.
