"Chicago P.D." female lead Sophia Bush has decided to depart the NBC cop drama after four seasons. The 34-year-old actress' exit follows co-creator/showrunner Matt Olmstead's departure in March.

Sophia portrays Det. Erin Lindsay on the Dick Wolf procedural. She starred on "Chicago P.D." since the first season and appeared in several episodes on "Chicago Med", "Chicago Fire", "Chicago Justice" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".

According to Deadline, Sophia is leaving on her own accord. "Chicago P.D." hinted at Sophia's departure in the recent season 4 cliffhanger finale. The finale sees Sophia's character on the verge of accepting a job with the FBI in New York. Despite Sophia's exit, "there is possibility for her to return for a guest-starring arc to wrap her character's story."

"Chicago P.D." is one of the three "Chicago" series currently airing on NBC. "Chicago P.D.", "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago Med" were all renewed for a new season on the network, while "Chicago Justice" was recently canceled. "Chicago P.D." season 4 averaged a 1.4 rating and 6.6 million viewers.

Sophie has two films, "Marshall" and "Acts of Violence", coming out this year. Besides acting, the "One Tree Hill alum has been doing charity work, with environmental, social and gender equality causes as her primary focus.
