Following the penultimate episode which featured shocking revelation and major plot twist, The CW has released a dozen stills from the upcoming season finale of "Riverdale". Judging from the pics, there will be a shocking discovery or even another death in next week's episode.

Some pictures show Veronica, Jughead and Betty who look frightened with snowy landscape in the background. Another photo features an upset-looking Archie punching through ice to get at something, while Jughead tries to stop Veronica and Betty from interfering.

Titled "The Sweet Hereafter", the season finale will air Thursday, May 11 at 9/8c on The CW. According to the official synopsis, "Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) continue to grow closer. Betty (Lili Reinhart) is tired of her family acting as if nothing has happened and confronts her mother. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) finds himself in an unexpected situation, leaving Archie and the gang scrambling. Hermione (Marisol Nichols) makes Fred (Luke Perry) an offer that seems too good to be true. Meanwhile, the truth about Blossoms' family business is revealed leaving Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) to take matters into her own hands."

Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told EW about the season finale, "There's a huge twist ending that sets up the second season. One of our main character's life hangs in the balance." The episode will also feature Archie performing with Josie and the Pussycats.
