ABC's "The Gong Show" revival has found its host in Tommy Maitland, or possibly Mike Myers in disguise. The British-Canadian comic seemingly is set to be fronting the reboot in character named Tommy Maitland.

While no one in charge has confirmed Maitland's real identity, The Hollywood Reporter believes that Maitland's real identity is no one but Myers. The site further states that the comedian "seems to be going full method for the gig." The show seemingly will keep his identity in secret as Myers' name is nowhere to be found "on any literature, promotions or even credits tied to 'The Gong Show'."

Show producer Will Arnett revealed that he was such a huge fan of Maitland in a press release. "I've been a huge fan of Tommy since I first saw his stand-up in the U.K. while traveling as a teenager. He was so funny and original." He went on saying, "I had the good fortune to cross paths with Tommy a few years ago and ever since we've talked about working together. I tried for years to come up with a vehicle that was suitable to expose his immense talent on a bigger stage, and 'The Gong Show' is the perfect fit."

Maitland also recalled when Arnett offered him the hosting gig, "When Will Arnett came to me and asked me to host 'The Gong Show', I said, 'I'm honoured at the request, but I'm retired.' Then he told me how much I was being paid, in U.S. dollars, and I said, 'I'm still honoured, but no longer retired.' "

In addition to producing the show, Arnett is set to be a celebrity guest judge. Other celebrity judges rotating on the reboot include Zach Galifianakis, Alison Brie, Andy Samberg, Elizabeth Banks, Joel McHale, Dana Carvey, Will Forte, Jack Black and Anthony Anderson.

Created and hosted by Chuck Barris, the original "The Gong Show" was a hit variety show back in 1976 to 1980. The show featured people with wide-ranging talents who performed their acts in front of Barris and guest panelist. Once they felt that the contestant's performance was too much to watch or listen to, the panelist would bang the gong.

ABC's reboot of the series will premiere on June 22.
