This is the first time Generation Award is not going to individual actor and 'Fast and Furious' star Vin Diesel will accept the award on behalf of the entire cast.

On Friday, April 28, MTV announced that the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise would receive Generation Award at 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards. It means that this is the first time the award doesn't go to an individual actor. The eighth installment of the "Fast and Furious" movie series, "The Fate of the Furious", continues reigning worldwide box office since its release date.

The award will be accepted by Vin Diesel on behalf of the entire cast. Compared to his other co-stars, Diesel has appeared in most of "Fast and Furious" movies, minus 2003's "2 Fast 2 Furious". Diesel will receive the award along with castmates Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewster.

As a celebration, MTV will air a trivia-based marathon of the first three "Fast and Furious" movies a week ahead of the event on Saturday, April 29 from 8:00 P.M. ET-3:30 A.M. ET and on Sunday, April 30 from 5:30 P.M. ET-1:00 A.M. ET.

Last year's recipient of Generation Award was Will Smith. Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Wahlberg, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey were among past honorees.

MTV Movie and TV Awards will be hosted by Adam Devine live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 7, at 8:00 P.M. ET/PT across all Viacom networks. The nominees were announced earlier this month. "Get Out" is earning six nominations which include Movie of the Year, Best Villain, Best Fight Against the System, Best Actor in a Movie, Next Generation and Best Duo.

"Beauty and the Beast (2017)" and "Stranger Things" earn four nominations apiece, while "Atlanta", "Game of Thrones", "Hidden Figures", "Logan", "Moonlight" and "This Is Us" nab three nominations apiece.
