The autopsy result of Aaron Hernandez has allegedly been revealed. According to the alleged result, Hernandez's body was tested positive for K2, a form of synthetic marijuana. He was believed to be high when he committed suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell on April 19.

Newsweek reported that a kidney fluid screen conducted during an autopsy showed traces of the drug. This news caused the police to search the prison cell where Hernandez died to look for contraband, including paper soaked with the synthetic marijuana known as K2. It was believed that liquefied drugs like K2 could be smuggled into prison by dipping corners of paper into the drug and mailing that piece of paper as a letter.

However, TMZ Sports confirmed that it was just a rumor. The medical examiner responsible of Hernandez's autopsy said to the website, "The toxicology is not yet complete so I am guessing this is a rumor." The examiner added that it was still unknown when the results would be in.

Hernandez was serving a life sentence before he killed himself. The 27-year-old former athlete was found with "John 3:16" written on his forehead. He left three suicide notes and one of them was addressed to his alleged gay lover. The other two were addressed to his fiancee and his 4-year-old daughter.

His attorney Jose Baez denied that his client had a gay lover. "Rumors of letters to a gay lover, in or out of prison, are false. These are malicious leaks used to tarnish somebody who is dead," he stated, before adding that they were still investigating to find the real cause behind Hernandez's death.

Hernandez was buried on a private funeral on April 24. The funeral was attended by his family as well as some of his NFL friends.
