Will Smith is definitely a supportive father. The "Suicide Squad" star helps son Jaden Smith get ready for a new project by cutting all of his famous dreadlocks.

The 48-year-old actor shared on Facebook on Tuesday, April 10 some photos of Jaden's before and after hair transformation. "Getting Jaden Smith ready for the first day of filming #LifeInAYear...maybe I should've used scissors?!" so he captioned the snaps. The husband of Jada Pinkett Smith looked happy as he flashed a huge smile while holding up the massive bundle of blonde dreadlocks he'd just cut off. Jaden, meanwhile, looked pretty sad after losing his signature hair.

Jaden is currently in Toronto to begin filming his new movie "Life in a Year". One fan spotted the 18-year-old actor/singer on the filming set with his newly shaved head and natural hair color. In "Life in a Year", Jaden will portray a 17-year-old high school senior who finds out that his girlfriend is dying from cancer. Directed by Mitja Okorn, the film will also star Cara Delevingne, Terrence Howard and Nia Long. The romance flick is expected to hit theaters next year.

Jaden was recently spotted getting cozy with "Nashville" actress Odessa Adlon in Miami. The two teens were not shy to show their affection to each other as they were caught cuddling on a lounge chair while soaking up the sun. The aspiring fashion designer even couldn't keep his hands and lips off the young actress as he planted a kiss on her cheek.
