The 'I'm Not the Only One' singer reportedly recruits Timbaland to be featured on his upcoming album which is set to arrive this year.

AceShowbiz - Sam Smith is reportedly going to release his second studio album this year, and he apparently takes Timbaland along the ride. Although the 24-year-old British singer has been keeping a quite low profile regarding the upcoming album, Timbo proudly teases fans about him hitting the studio together with Sam to work on new music.

The 45-year-old rapper and DJ made it no secret as he took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Sam in a studio. He wrote in the caption along with some fire emojis, "It was a pleasure working this man [Sam Smith] #puretalent #goodvibes #makingmemories and #timeless #music."

The forthcoming album is the follow-up to Sam's debut album "In the Lonely Hour" which was released in 2014. A source told Daily Star, "Sam is desperate to get back out there again. His album is due out at the end of September and he can't wait."

"The initial plan was for him to take just a year out as his album sales were still great overseas but then his management asked him to take another year off. He wasn't keen of the idea but understood why," the source said, before adding, "He's been working really hard and has more than enough tracks ready to go. It's just going to be working out which songs make the final cut now."

Confirming this, Sam replied to a fan's comment on Instagram. He admitted that he missed singing onstage, and he promised his fans that his album would arrive soon. "Every single day I think about us all singing together on those stages round the world. I can't wait to hear you all sing again my beautiful fans and friends. It's coming. I promise. I hope it doesn't feel like I've forgotten you because it's the opposite. I can't stop thinking about you all. Miss you. Bare with me," he wrote.
