Keith Urban teams up with fellow country music superstar Carrie Underwood for his new song "The Fighter", the fifth single off his Grammy-nominated album "Ripcord". The two will debut the song for the first time on TV at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, which is set to take place on Sunday, February 12.

Co-written by Urban and record producer busbee, the song only features Underwood's voice during the callback portion of the chorus. They sing, "What if I fall?/ I won't let you fall/ What if I cry?/ I'll never make you cry/ And if I get scared?/ I'll hold you tighter," over futuristic-like sound effects.

"Writing 'The Fighter' came pretty quickly," Urban talked about the song in a press release. "It comes from a very real place. It's a song about helping to heal and protect someone you love. It's a song about reassurance that you'll always be there to take the blows the world can throw."

"I loved the song when I first heard it and was excited to work with Keith on new music," added Underwood in the same press release. "I had such a great time touring Australia and New Zealand with him in December, and can't wait to perform 'The Fighter' on The Grammys!"

Underwood and Urban are in the running for Best Country Solo Performance for "Church Bells" and "Blue Ain't Your Color" respectively. The Australian singer is also pitted against Brandy Clark, Loretta Lynn, Maren Morris and Sturgill Simpson for Best Country Album.

The two country superstars will join previously-announced performers including The Weeknd, Daft Punk, Alicia Keys, Morris, Adele, John Legend, Bruno Mars and Metallica. Beyonce Knowles will also likely to perform at the music's biggest night, while James Corden will host from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
