Hailee Steinfeld has confirmed that she will return in "Pitch Perfect 3". The 20-year-old actress has just uploaded a photo to her Instagram account with a caption, "RELAX, pitches. I'm here. #pitchperfect." Steinfeld wears ESPRIT cropped T-shirt in the picture, holding up three fingers on each hand.
Her post is apparently a response to Anna Kendrick's tweet on January 5. Kendrick, who played Beca in the "Pitch Perfect" movie series, posted a group photo of "Pitch Perfect 3" cast members. Steinfeld wasn't in the picture, though, and fans questioned whether or not she would come back in the threequel. Steinfeld's Instagram post finally affirms that she is included in the cast list.
In "Pitch Perfect 2", Steinfeld played Emily Junk, a freshman who eventually became a member of all-female a cappella group The Barden Bellas. Steinfeld will reprise her role as Emily in the threequel. She will appear with other returning cast members such as Kendrick (Beca), Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy), Hana Mae Lee (Lilly), Shelley Regner (Ashley), Kelley Jakle (Jessica), Ester Dean (Chyntia Rose), Brittany Snow (Chloe) and Anna Camp (Aubrey).
While Barden Bellas is confirmed to make a good comeback, its biggest competitor The Treblemakers is not returning. Actor Skylar Astin, who played Jesse in the movie, announced it last December through his Twitter account. "Yes. As of now, the Trebles and I won't be in the third 'Pitch Perfect' movie. They seem to be taking the story in a different direction," he said.
"Pitch Perfect 3" was initially set to be released on July 21, but later was delayed to August 4 before moving back to the July 21 slot. It was later pushed back to December 22.
