The "Pitches" assemble in the first pic taken from the set of "Pitch Perfect 3". As filming on the upcoming musical kicked off Thursday, January 5, Anna Kendrick took to Instagram to share the image of her along with other returning cast members. "Team," the Beca Mitchell depicter simply wrote in the caption.
Excited Rebel Wilson also posted the same image on her Twitter account. Also posing for the camera were Chrissie Fit, Shelley Regner, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp and Kelley Jakle. Wilson captioned the snap with, "Day One Pitches!" adding the hashtag, "#PP3."
Elizabeth Banks has also been confirmed to return, but she seems to start filming her part later. Meanwhile, Skylar Astin, the male lead of the previous two movies, recently revealed that he and the Treblemakers wouldn't be back to the third "Pitch Perfect" movie, as the crew "seem to be taking the story in a different direction."
Trish Sie will direct the movie from a script written by Kay Cannon, with additional drafts from Mike White and Dana Fox. Banks, who directed "Pitch Perfect 2", is attached as a producer along with Brownstone Productions' Max Handelman and Gold Circle Entertainment's Paul Brooks.
"Pitch Perfect 3" is set for a December 22 release in U.S. theaters.
