The first look at the titular bunny in Sony/Columbia's upcoming "Peter Rabbit" has been uncovered. Making its way out online via Twitter, an image of the upcoming adaptation of Beatrix Potter's classic tale offers fans an idea of what the rebellious rabbit to be voiced by James Corden looks like.

"Peter Rabbit" is expected to begin the production early next year for an April 2018 release in U.S. theaters. "Annie" director Will Gluck will sit behind the lens for the movie, with a screenplay he co-writes with Rob Lieber. Handling the animation for the live-action/CG hybrid will be Animal Logic ("The Lego Movie").

Also attached to the project are Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson, who will star as the female lead, a human named Bea, and a farmer named Mr. McGregor respectively. Other voice cast members include Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki, whose characters' details are still kept under tight wraps.

The upcoming animated flick follows the titular rabbit who tries to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden. In the books, Peter Rabbit is described as having a mother named Josephine and three sisters named Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail.
