Michael Rooker, the actor who portrayed Merle Dixon on "The Walking Dead", has shared his vision about how the series will end. He talked to the crowd at Walker Stalker Con and claimed that the show would conclude as "a railroad track" which is going on forever into the setting sun.

Rooker said, "From behind camera, a single individual walks down the middle of the track...into the setting sun. You realize that individual is Carl...all grown-up, a man of his own. No one else is with him, just him." He added, "And as he does his voice-over, you realize that all the seasons that you've seen is him reliving his past."

He then concluded, "So everyone on the show is dead. He's the only survivor, and he's on his own and walks off into the sunset. And that's the end of the show."

Back in May, series creator Robert Kirkman was asked if he had a new ending planned for the series. He said, "Yes, but you know... It's not happening for a long, long time."

The question was asked after he changed his original plan on ending the comic "as soon as everybody reached Alexandria." However, Kirkman has said that the end of the TV series will be different from the comic book series.

"The Walking Dead" returns with the remainder of its seventh season on February 12, 2017 on AMC.
