Jeremy Irons Reveals 'The Batman' Starts Filming Next Summer, Promises 'More of Alfred'
Movie

While Ben Affleck insists that 'there is no Batman movie happening yet,' Jeremy, who plays the Caped Crusader's loyal butler, confirms that the filming will begin next year.

AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck insists that "there is no Batman movie happening yet," but another actor has just confirmed that "The Batman" will start filming next year. Speaking with Variety, Jeremy Irons, who plays the Caped Crusader's loyal butler Alfred, reveals that the principal photography is scheduled to begin in summer of 2017.

"Ben's going to make a Batman film next summer," says the 68-year-old Academy Award winner. "He promises me there's going to be a bit more of Alfred in that. In the 'Justice League' we have seven major lead characters and I'm the butler to one of them. It's clear I will not be dominating that film."

Co-star Joe Manganiello previously confirmed that production on "The Batman" would begin in spring. However, there is no additional information whether the 39-year-old actor, who is set to portray the villainous Deathstroke in the upcoming DC movie, will film his part earlier than Jeremy's.

"The Batman" will be directed by Ben, who also co-writes the screenplay. As of now, no official release date and plot details have been announced. Meanwhile, Ben will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in "Justice League" which is set for a November 17, 2017 release in U.S. theaters.

The DC superhero team-up movie is helmed by Zack Snyder and stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Man of Steel, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash as well as Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
