The first domestic trailer for "Max Steel" has been released by Open Road Films for fans' viewing pleasure. While the international trailer mostly sees Ben Winchell's Max McGrath teaming up with Steel to fight against the Ultralinks, the newly released trailer focuses on the origin of the superhero.

The video opens with Max and his mother, played by Maria Bello, moving back to their small town called Copper Canyon. One school scene shows Max being introduced as a new student. "Max McGrath, you are not Jim McGrath's son right?" the teacher tries to make sure. "Why does everybody in this town know more about dad than I do?" he asks her mother.

He is seen meeting with Dr. Miles Edwards (Andy Garcia), who is said to know about the work of Max's dad (Mike Doyle). As he is looking for answers about his dad's past, he is blasted with energy bursts while messing around with his dad's technology. Several scenes show Max, accompanied by his alien sidekick, learning how to harness his new power for a lot of purposes.

Directed by Stewart Hendler from a script written by "Thor: The Dark World" scribe Christopher Yost, "Max Steel" follows a teenager named Max McGrath whose body inexplicably starts to generate massive energy bursts that he can't control. After he meets Steel, a techno-organic extraterrestrial, the duo forms a symbiotic relationship that harnesses their combined energies.

Also starring Anna Villafane, Billy Slaughter, Josh Brener, Phillip DeVona and Lawrence Kao, the upcoming superhero flick hits U.S. theaters this year on October 14.
