The 2016 San Diego Comic-Con had another big panel in Hall H aside from the "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" panel. Making his first appearance in the convention was Oliver Stone, who released a new trailer for highly-anticipated "Snowden" in its Hall H panel, attended by 7.000 panelgoers.

The third trailer of the film highlights Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Snowden being charged with espionage after exposing illegal activity done by the NSA. The video shows Snowden and his girlfriend (played by Shailene Woodley) discovering that his house is being bugged. Another scene shows him using a bugged rubik cube to gather information from the NSA.

The 35-year-old actor also attended to the convention which took place on Thursday, July 21, accompanying Stone. They were joined by Woodley and Zachary Quinto. Gordon-Levitt wore an American flag T-shirt at the panel in a nod to Snowden's patriotism. He said, "The question is we're promised privacy in the constitution and if the government is going to change those rules, they need to be open about that."

The "Premium Rush" actor also told the audience that Stone is one of the most patriotic filmmakers in American history. He said, "If you love something and you see something wrong about it. You raise your hand and you talk about it and try to fix it. And that's what I think his movies have done for decades, and I was really proud to be invited into one of his films."

The Snowden biopic reveals the untold personal story of Edward Snowden. He is the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world. He is considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others.

Also starring Scott Eastwood, Nicolas Cage, Melissa Leo, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, Ben Schnetzer and Lakeith Lee Stanfield, "Snowden" hits U.S. theaters on September 16.
