As promised, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani brought their duet to "The Voice". The pair took over the singing show on Monday night, May 9 for the first live TV performance of the song titled "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" which was made available online just hours earlier.

Shelton kicked off the song by singing the first few lines solo while playing his guitar. Stefani emerged on the stage later, rocking a ponytail and bedazzled dress, to join her beau during the chorus and then sing the second verse. The two shared a hug at the end of the song and received standing ovation from Shelton's fellow coaches, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams.

"Go Ahead and Break My Heart" will appear on Shelton's new album "If I'm Honest" that's due out May 20. "[The song] is very personal for us both because, you know, we obviously have this bond that is remarkable together," Shelton explained his collaboration with the No Doubt frontwoman in an interview last month.

"But the fact that we wrote a song together... I know that I don't co-write that much because I'm very insecure about it, I guess, and [Gwen's] kind of got her circle of people that she writes with. But for us to reach out to each other as writers, it may never happen again, who knows," he added.
