Teaming up with 'Yellowstone' creator Taylor Sheridan, former 'The Voice' judge, Blake Shelton, is leaving the swiveling red chair behind to take aspiring artists on the road, literally.

AceShowbiz - Blake Shelton, known for his long tenure as a coach on NBC's "The Voice", is returning to the world of singing competitions, but this time with a unique twist. Teaming up with Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind TV hit "Yellowstone", they are set to launch a new CBS docuseries called "The Road" in the fall of 2025.

Unlike traditional singing competitions that take place in a studio with a live audience, "The Road" will follow aspiring artists as they join a headlining superstar on tour. Contestants will serve as opening acts and must win over local crowds to secure their spot in the next city and stay on the tour. The headlining superstar leading this musical journey is still under wraps, but the excitement is already building.

"I'm a big fan of Taylor's incredible work, and I'm excited to team with him and my long-time collaborator, Lee, on The Road," Shelton said. "I know a thing or two about singing competitions and what it's like to chase a music dream and live life on tour. I'm looking forward to discovering new talent and giving them this platform."

The show promises to offer "a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring artist," offering exclusive access to behind-the-scenes workings of the music industry. "No more shiny floors and studio audiences. This is where the rubber meets the road - literally. Get in the van, go to the next town, and win the crowd. Do it enough, and you become the next leader. Simple as that," Sheridan explained.

MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Lucky Horseshoe Productions will produce the series. David Glasser, another executive producer, noted, "I can't thank CBS enough for supporting us on this journey to bring an incredible project to audiences everywhere."

With heavy-hitters like Shelton and Sheridan at the helm, "The Road" aims to break the mold of traditional singing competitions. This unique format provides a more authentic and challenging path for emerging artists, making them earn their place in the limelight one city at a time.

Young music enthusiasts and aspiring artists have a new reason to be excited for 2025, as "The Road" promises to spotlight raw talent and the relentless pursuit of musical dreams in a way that has never been seen before.
