Peace doesn't stay for a long time in Lakewood. MTV has released the first trailer for "Scream" season 2 where terror is back as soon as Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) returns to the town. Hoping to get her life back to normal, Emma finds a bad dream about a mysterious place haunting her.

People begin receiving mysterious calls and someone uses the Ghostface mask to terrorize the town. Victims are falling as the scenes show some gruesome murder scenes, including one that features Brooke. "The thing about the truth is, it's hard to pin down," Noah (John Karna) says. "You hope it's one thing, but deep down, you know it's something else."

According to the official logline, season 2 of "Scream" picks up with Emma's return to Lakewood after several months at a retreat, where she tried to recover from the horrors of last season. Everyone is walking on eggshells around her, questioning whether she has truly gotten over the Killer's crimes. Meanwhile, Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) is hiding her connection to the Killer, but is getting harassed by someone who knows the truth.

Brooke (Carlson Young) and Jake (Tom Maden) are also keeping secrets-they are hiding a budding romance from Mayor Maddox (Bryan Batt). And, Noah is getting closer and closer to the truth about the season 1 murders. Lakewood's murderous past, both recent and distant, are once again brought to focus - with this Killer's psychotic mind-game intent on bringing Lakewood's heroes down in a storm of betrayal and bloodshed.

"Scream" returns with the new season May 30 at 11/10c on MTV. Kiana Lede, Santiago Segura, Anthony Ruivivar, Austin Highsmith and Sean Grandillo join the cast as new characters.
