After all these years, Mariah Carey still has no idea who Jennifer Lopez is. The "We Belong Together" hitmaker threw shade at the Bronx diva back in 2000 with her infamous "I don't know her" remark, and she is sticking to her story more than a decade later.
Carey was making her way out of the Venice Family Clinic gala in Los Angeles on Monday night, March 7 when she met a TMZ videographer who asked her about the line. "I still don't know her!" she simply replied before getting into her car and drove away.
Rumors about Carey and Lopez's feud started when the former responded with her now-iconic quote when asked about the "Jenny From the Block" singer in a 2000 interview. Both ladies headline their respective Las Vegas residencies, but they have never attended each other's shows.
In a chat with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" recently, J.Lo said that the alleged tension wasn't the reason she's never at Carey's concert. "I think last year when [Mariah's residency] started I was already here in New York filming 'Shades of Blue' and doing ['American Idol'] on the weekends - didn't have a lot of time," she explained. "Then I started preparing my own. I don't think there's been a time when I could have seen it."
When making a stop on Wendy Williams' show a few days later, the 46-year-old star called Carey "forgetful" for not remembering who she was. "We've met many times," she said.
