The 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' actor takes a break to recuperate from his surgery for stomach cancer.

Ken Watanabe reveals his cancer diagnosis. The "Transformers: Age of Extinction" star is forced to delay his return to Broadway's "The King and I" due to stomach cancer. "I hate to worry you, but please wait," the 56-year-old actor tweeted in Japanese.

"I would like to ask for your understanding that the start of my performance in New York will be a little delayed," he added in a statement. "I was really shocked, my wife and daughter pushed me to have a health check and the cancer was found. It was a very early stage and they operated immediately."

Ken Watanabe was nominated for a Tony last year for his performance in "The King and I". He also has an Oscar nod under his belt, thanks to his role in 2003's "The Last Samurai" starring Tom Cruise.

It's not the first time Ken has serious sickness. Back in 1980s, he survived two bouts of leukemia. He is currently recovering from his cancer surgery at a hospital in Japan.
