Ora's lawyer says that Hov 'has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation.'

AceShowbiz - Rita Ora sued Jay-Z's Roc Nation back in December, claiming that the label neglected her and demanding to be released from her contract. The company has now responded by countersuing the British singer for $2.4 million.

Ora was signed to Roc Nation in 2008 when she was an "unknown" singer. She was supposed to deliver 5 albums under the label, but she has so far dropped only one, 2012's "Ora". She had recorded new material for a follow-up record, but the label hadn't released it yet as they continued to focus on their sports division, said Ora in her suit.

Contrary to her claims, Roc Nation states in their own suit that they've invested more than $2 million to promote her second album. "[Roc Nation] has tirelessly promoted [her] career, investing millions of dollars in marketing, recording and other costs, which was instrumental in guiding Ms. Ora to her current level of success and fame," read the legal documents obtained by Page Six.

However, the legal battle involving the 25-year-old songbird and her label may soon be over. Her attorney, Howard King, claims that Jay-Z has already promised to release her from her contract. "Jay Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalized," said King. "We believe that Roc Nation's distributor, Sony Music, has required Roc Nation to file this action to preserve whatever rights Sony might have pending resolution."
