Ready to get fierce criticism over her looks, Amy says, 'I was like, 'Everyone's going to say, 'She's not pretty enough to be in this movie.' ' And then only one dude wrote that.'

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer apparently has a charm which can turn haters into admirers. The 34-year-old comedienne told The Hollywood Reporter that there was a guy who tried to ask her for a date though he previously said, "She's not pretty enough."

Talking about internet trolls, Amy said, "With 'Trainwreck' coming out, I was like, 'Everyone's going to say, 'She's not pretty enough to be in this movie.' ' And then only one dude wrote that." She continued, "And people really attacked him, and then he redacted that and wanted to date me."

From her experience, Amy concluded, "The things that you're afraid they're going to say are so much worse than anything they actually say. But you've already put your nervous system through that fear." She added, "I've been waiting for this rainstorm of hate, and it's never really come."

While the "Inside Amy Schumer" star didn't give any further details about the guy who wanted to date her, E! News pointed at Hollywood Elsewhere writer Jeffrey Wells who wrote in a review of "Trainwreck" earlier this year that Amy's character wasn't "conventionally attractive." After Amy reacted to his comments back then, he later wrote, "Sorry for the Amy Schumer sturm und drang... [She's] a first-class talent and deserves more respect than what I gave her."

Another critic who commented on Amy's looks in a review of the movie was MovieChambers.com writer Paul Chambers. "Amy Schumer is one of those borderline beauties," he wrote. "You glance at her one moment, and she's very attractive. But, then a few seconds later, her pug face materializes and you know why she chose a standup career. Well, it's not all standup."
