Amy Schumer's bad experiences with Ozempic and Wegovy didn't deter her from weight-loss drugs. In a new Instagram post, she talked about trying a new medication on her ongoing journey to slim down.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer has always been straightforward and candid with her fans. The actress/comedian recently shared her experiences with weight loss medication in an Instagram video, revealing that she has found success with Mounjaro after a difficult experience with her previous weight-loss drug.

Schumer explained, "Mounjaro's been great," though she noted the challenge of getting it covered by insurance unless the patient has diabetes or severe obesity. With her trademark humor, she quipped, "Which most of the internet thinks I have."

The comedian's journey has not been an easy one. She previously tried another weight loss drug, Wegovy, which left her feeling severely nauseous. The "Kinda Pregnant" actress disclosed, "I couldn't stop puking. I don't know if they've changed the formula, whatever."

This struggle led her to switch to Mounjaro, which has since been FDA-approved for the treatment of Type II Diabetes, unlike Wegovy.

In her candid video, Schumer also discussed her current experience with perimenopause and how she's managing it with the help of Midi Health, a telehealth company focusing on women's health over 35.

"They put me on estrogen and progesterone … and my symptoms from being perimenopause have disappeared," affirmed Schumer. She shared that the treatment has significantly improved her overall well-being, boosting her energy levels, enhancing her skin, and even improving her libido.

This transparency is not new for Schumer. In January, she revealed her struggle with another weight loss medication, admitting to dropping 30 pounds on Ozempic. However, the experience was anything but pleasant.

She told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM talk show that the drug left her "bedridden" with "no energy." She added, "But other people take it and they're all good. God bless them."

Schumer has called for transparency from her fellow celebrities about their use of weight loss drugs. She has openly criticized those who hide their use, urging them to be more honest. "You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop," she stated. "Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo."

By sharing these personal details, Schumer continues to build a meaningful connection with her audience. Her honesty invites dialogue about the mental and physical challenges one faces while navigating weight loss and health issues. For young people, her message is clear: It is essential to stay true to yourself and be transparent about your journey.
