AceShowbiz - Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael Cavallari reportedly dealt with mental health issues before he was found dead in Utah. His friends told PEOPLE that the 30-year-old man had personal struggles in recent months.
Michael battled alcohol addiction and dealt with mental health issues, said his friends. However, another source said that he's "really turning his life around" and working with his father Dennis doing real estate development prior to his death.
"Most recently, Mike felt he wasn't able to maintain sobriety alone and needed to go into a rehab facility," a source close to the family told the publication. "He told his mom this as soon as he was released from his detainment." As previously reported, Michael was arrested with a loaded shotgun before he disappeared a day after Thanksgiving.
Michael's family is currently planning a memorial service for him. However, they are still waiting to see when his sister Kristin's newborn daughter Saylor would be able to travel, according to the source. Meanwhile, Kristin shared with her 1.7 million followers on Instagram on Monday, December 14 an emotional tribute to her daughter for helping her get through the loss of his elder brother.
"My little angel, Saylor. She has been my light throughout this whole thing and has given me so much strength. Thank you baby girl for coming when u did," Kristin wrote alongside a snap of her baby's legs in pants and socks.
