When you're dealing with Erykah Badu, the No. 1 rule is: always listen to what she says. Tyrese Gibson apparently didn't know this when he recently attended the 2015 Soul Train Awards, which featured the songstress as a host and one of the performers.
Badu ended up embarrassing Gibson in front of other people in the audience after he failed to put away his phone while she's performing her new song "Phone Down". "Tyrese, you're on your phone?" she asked the singer/actor, who continued talking on his phone.
"You're in the front row on national TV... and you're on your phone?" she added while approaching him. "You've got to call 'em back," she said before confiscating his phone and singing her track, "I can make you put your phone down... You ain't gonna text no one when you wit' me."
The 2015 Soul Train Awards is airing this Sunday, November 29 on BET and Centric. Also performing during the show were Brandy, Fantasia Barrino, Jeremih, Boyz II Men and Jazmine Sullivan among others.
