Katherine Timpf refuses to apologize after receiving death treats for slamming 'Star Wars' and calling the franchise's fans 'crazy.'

AceShowbiz - Fox News contributor Katherine Timpf declared that she would not apologize for making some jokes about the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". She criticized the movie last month on "Red Eye w/ Tom Shillue" and the action sparked a series of death and rape threats.

In an essay she wrote for National Review, Timpf said, "A lot of people are clearly a lot of upset. But guess what? I'm not apologizing." She went on explaining her reasons why she refused to apologize. "Why? Because the all-too-common knee-jerk reaction of apologizing for harmless jokes after overblown hysteria is ruining our culture. This political-correctness obsession threatens free speech, and I absolutely refuse to be a part of it," she stated.

Back in October, on the talk show presented by Tom Shillue, Timpf slammed "Star Wars" fans, calling them "crazy." "I have never had any interest in watching space nerds poke each other with their little space nerd sticks, and I'm not going to start now. You people are crazy. You 'Star Wars' people are crazy," she said. "Yesterday I tweeted something, and all I said was that I wasn't familiar with 'Star Wars' because I've been too busy liking cool things and being attractive - people threatened my life."

Ever since she made those statements, numerous death threats struck her through online media. "Tomorrow, 8 am, you're dead. Shouldn't have said what you said. Call the FBI, call the cops, call whatever you want, nothing can stop the onslaught that you are about to face," so read one of the threats she received.

However, Timpf didn't appear to be scared. Despite the death threats, Timpf jokingly wrote on Twitter, "No I'm not dead but my favorite midi ring did fall off my finger so it's not fair to say that ALL is well."

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie. Directed by J.J. Abrams, the sci-fi movie will arrive in the U.S. on December 18.
