Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is saving another Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's life. The actor has raked out $1,500 in an attempt to help a sick dog named after him.

Someone started a campaign to raise fund for Johnson the dog after a Los Angeles shelter SPOT! found the 4-month-old puppy in an appalling condition. "He was dumped at North Central Shelter with a large metal wire wrapped around the bottom portion of his mouth," the description on GoFundMe read. But his mouth was the least problem. The dog suffers from a grade 5 heart murmur that requires a $4,500 surgery.

Many civilians opened their wallets for the dog and The Rock threw in $1,500 towards the $5,000 goal. The "Furious 7" star is a dog lover, having adopted two French Bulldog puppies and personally rescued them when they jumped into his pool. SPOT! named the pup after him "because he is going to need to be a great fighter to win this battle."

"Knowing that 'The Rock' has got Dwayne the puppy's back, we are confident he will be a fighter and make it through this. Thank you all for your generous donations- thanks to you we have met our goal," the GoFundMe page said, adding any extra cash would be used for other sick pups. According to TMZ, Jamie Chung also put down $600 for Dwayne's heart echo and x-rays.
