The 'San Andreas' actor recounts his journey to Hollywood stardom on Oprah Winfrey's 'Master Class'.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson joins a growing list of celebrities to open up on his struggle with depression. The wrestler-turned-actor talks about his dark past in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on her "Master Class" airing this coming Sunday, November 15.

It was his devastation after being cut from the Canadian Football League at the age of 23 that led him to depression. "I found that with depression one of the most important things you could realize is that you're not alone," the soon-to-be-dad opens up.

"You're not the first to go through it, you're not going to be the last to go through it and oftentimes you feel like you're alone and you feel like it's only you and you're in your bubble. I wish I had someone at that time who could just pull me aside and [say], 'Hey, it's going to be okay.' "

A month and a half later, he was called back by his coach but he refused. Instead, he told his father who was a professional wrestler to train him. "He said, 'You are throwing it all away. It is the worst mistake you will ever make. You're ruining your career,' " the actor recalls. "I said, 'Maybe I'll be no good, but I feel like, in my heart, I have to do this.' "

Johnson gained fame in the wrestling ring as The Rock before branching out into acting in Hollywood. "It wound up being one of the greatest chapters in my life," so he says.
