Tracy Morgan in Talks to Play Redd Foxx in Richard Pryor Biopic

The 47-year-old actor is in negotiations to play comedian Foxx in the upcoming biopic centering on Richard Pyror.

AceShowbiz - Tracy Morgan is in talks to play comedian Redd Foxx in Lee Daniels' untitled Richard Pryor biopic, TheWrap has learned. Morgan will join Mike Epps, who is on board to portray Pryor, one of the most important and influential stand-up comedians ever.

Kate Hudson will play the central figure's wife, Jennifer Lee Pryor, while Eddie Murphy and Taraji P. Henson will play Pryor's parents. Oprah Winfrey is also up to play Pryor's grandmother, Marie Carter, the woman who raised the comedian.

Jennifer is involved as producer in the film which will capture Richard's meteoric rise, starting with his childhood and moving through his harder years in entertainment industry. It will also show the comedian's tumultuous life as he nearly died while freebasing cocaine. The official release date has yet to be announced, but the movie is expected to arrive in 2016.

Tracy recently hosted "Saturday Night Live". He is also attached to star in New Line's comedy "Fist Fight" alongside Ice Cube and Charlie Day.
