Jay-Z announces a star-studded concert to raise funds for charity, lining up Beyonce Knowles, Prince, and Nicki Minaj. They are joined by Lil Wayne, T.I., Fabolous, Damian Marley, Indochine, Thomas Rhett, DJ Cipha Sounds, and DJ Reflex.
The concert will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on October 20 and benefit charities connected to New World Foundation. It is "aimed at raising awareness, funds, conscious engagement, and dynamic action for transformative and positive social impact worldwide."
The so-called "Tidal X: 1020" concert will also be supported by Tidal rising acts like Alessia Cara, Bas, Benjamin Booker, Flatbush Zombies, and Justine Sky. It promises to offer "collaborations on specially chosen songs to promote the message of unity through music."
Tickets with price range from $74 to $244 will be available to Tidal subscribers on September 30 and to general public two days later on October 2. Organizers hope to raise around $500,000 through the concert. The concert itself will be streamed on Tidal for free.
Besides raising funds for non-profit organizations, "Tidal X: 1020" is to celebrate the music-streaming site for reaching 1 million subscribers as Jay-Z recently tweeted, " 'Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists' Tidal is platinum. 1,000,000 people and counting. Let's celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn."
