Bon Jovi has canceled more shows on their Asian tour. The veteran rock band was forced to pull the plug on their Taipei concerts scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29 because of a looming typhoon.

In a statement on their website, the group explained they were ordered to axe the gigs by the city's Central Weather Bureau that instructed residents to cease all school and work as a precaution against Typhoon Dujuan, which hit northern Taiwan on Monday evening.

The concerts were going to be Bon Jovi's first Taiwan performance in 20 years. Their last appearances in the country were in 1993 and 1995.

Earlier this month, Jon Bon Jovi and Co. already canceled their Chinese concerts allegedly because of their support for the Dalai Lama. Reports said that the Communist party's Culture Ministry banned them from China after discovering that the group had performed in front of a picture of the Tibetan monk at a concert a few years ago.
