Paul Walker's daughter Meadow Walker filed a wrongful-death suit on Monday, September 28 against Porsche AG. In the lawsuit obtained by PEOPLE, Meadow alleged that the type of car her father rode, Porsche Carrera GT, "lacked safety features... that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash."

According to the lawsuit, the company knew "that the Carrera GT had a history of instability and control issues." However, it "failed to install its electronic stability control system" which was supposed to "protect against the swerving actions inherent in hyper-sensitive vehicles of this type." While law enforcement said the cause of the crash was speeding at rates between 80 and 93 MPH, the lawsuit claimed the car went between 63 and 71 MPH when it lost control.

Furthermore, a "defective" seat belt design allegedly kept the "Fast and Furious" actor trapped in the car. The lawsuit claimed that Paul might have been able to exit the vehicle before it caught on fire if the seat belt was well-designed.

The seat belt "snapped [Paul's] torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis, flattening his seat and trapping him in a supine position, where he remained alive until the vehicle erupted into flames one minute and 20 seconds later," the lawsuit alleged. The suit also raised other issues about the car including claims there were deficient side door reinforcements and rubber fuel lines that didn't adequately protect the car from erupting in flames.

Meadow's lawyer, Jeff Milam, told TMZ, "The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn't belong on the street. And we shouldn't be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas."
