The first trailer for Disney's take on Rudyard Kipling's classic tale "The Jungle Book" has arrived online. It shows Neel Sethi's Mowgli exploring a lush forest and runs into various animals. Some are friendly and some others are not so much.

Kaa the python voiced by Scarlett Johansson is highlighted in the trailer. "Are you alone out here? What are you doing so deep in the jungle?" she asks the young boy. "Poor sweet little cub, I'll keep you close. Let go of your fear now and trust in me."

The character was originally male but it was re-written for the Black Widow actress. "The original film was a little male-heavy so we changed the character of Kaa," director Jon Favreau explained to Yahoo Movies. "We thought that Scarlett, who I've worked with a few times, would be perfect. Her voice is so emotive."

He also told Access Hollywood Live, "All of this was shot in downtown Los Angeles. The only live-action character person is Neel Sethi, playing Mowgli. The humans are the only things that are real. The environments, the animals - all of that is generated by artists." He added, "It's remarkable if you have good artists and a good vision."

It's scheduled for U.S. release on April 15, 2016. Ben Kingsley voices Bagheera the panther, Idris Elba is Shere Khan the tiger, Bill Murray is Baloo the bear, Christopher Walken is King Louie the orangutan, and Lupita Nyong'o is Raksha the mother wolf.
