The NFL is reportedly interested in bringing back Bruno Mars for the Super Bowl 50. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Hawaii-born singer has been offered to headline the halftime show for the big game slated to take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 7, 2016.

Mars previously headlined the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show in 2014. He brought out special guest Red Hot Chili Peppers for the event, which went on to become the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history after drawing 115 million viewers. The record was later broken by Katy Perry whose performance this year attracted 121 million viewers.

There's still no official word if Mars will accept the offer. Representatives for the 29-year-old star and the NFL didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Following his headlining show in 2014, Mars hasn't put out much solo music. He, however, recently topped the charts with "Uptown Funk" which appears on producer Mark Ronson's latest album "Uptown Special".
