Bindi Irwin Is First Celebrity Contestant Announced for 'DWTS' Season 21

The daughter of late Steve Irwin says of her joining 'Dancing with the Stars', 'This is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life.'

AceShowbiz - The first celebrity contestant to compete for the mirror ball in the upcoming season 21 of "Dancing with the Stars" is revealed. Bindi Irwin, the 17-year-old daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, appeared on "Good Morning America" to announce her joining the show.

"This is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life," the teenager said on the ABC breakfast show. "I am used to wrangling crocodiles." She continued, "I'm quite nervous about this," jokingly adding, "I have to tell you though, the judges scare me more than crocodiles."

The pro dancer the Aussie star will be partnering with is still kept under wraps. The lineup is expected to be announced over the next two weeks. "I just hope my dance partner, whoever it is, is very patient and likes animals, because you never know what I�m going to bring to rehearsal," so she said.

"DWTS" will kick off the new season on September 14 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough will return as judges while Len Goodman left. The returning pro-dancers are Julianne's brother Derek Hough, Karina Smirnoff, Val Chmerkovskiy, Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, and Witney Carson.
