AceShowbiz - Kamri Peterson has been named the first troupe member for Dancing with the Stars season 35, Us Weekly reports. At just 18 years old, she returns to the franchise after previously competing as a junior professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors in 2018.

Aol also detailed that Kamri’s announcement took place at DWTS Con in Palm Springs, California. Since her time on the junior edition, she has maintained her ballroom training, working with notable professionals such as Rylee Arnold, Ezra Sosa, and choreographer Mandy Moore, according to both Us Weekly and Aol. The troupe role will have Kamri performing in group numbers and supporting the show as a background dancer, although she will not be paired with a celebrity contestant this season.

Besides Kamri’s addition, Us Weekly and Aol confirmed that several celebrity contestants have been locked in for season 35, including Ciara Miller, Maura Higgins, Jackson Olson, and Guillermo Rodriguez, with more names expected to be revealed. Alfonso Ribeiro has explained that dance partnerships on the show can still shift up until the premiere as producers finalize pairings for the best chemistry.

Dancing with the Stars first aired in 2005 and has since run for 33 seasons. The 35th season will debut over two nights on September 15 and 16, 2025, on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available the next day on Hulu.
