It was reported before that Lucy Lane would be featured on "Supergirl", and now the role has been filled. Jenna Dewan-Tatum has landed the recurring role of Lucy, who is described as brash, funny and as beautiful as her older sister Lois Lane.

Lucy is strong, smart and successful in her own right. She is also an ex-girlfriend of Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Kara's (Melissa Benoist) love interest. She's come to town to right a previous wrong and will first appear in the third episode of the first season.

Dewan-Tatum is best known for her role in 2006's film "Step Up", in which she starred opposite her now husband Channing Tatum. She currently is a series regular on Lifetime's "Witches of East End".

In the comic books, Lucy is the most recent iteration of Superwoman. While she's not from Krypton like Kara or Superman, she finds a suit with a containment field that allows her to adopt Kryptonian powers. This leads to a speculation that Superwoman might appear on "Supergirl".

"Supergirl" centers on Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El, who was born on the planet Krypton, but escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she's been hiding the powers she shares with Superman. But now, at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Also starring Chyler Leigh as Kara's foster sister Alex Danvers, Calista Flockhart as Kara's boss Cat Grant, Laura Benanti as her birth mother Alura Zor-El, Owain Yeoman as villainous Vartox, and Peter Facinelli as DC Comics character Maxwell Lord, the new series will premiere Monday, October 26 at 8:30 P.M. on CBS, before airing in its regular slot beginning Monday, November 2 at 8 P.M.
