Reba McEntire and her husband Narvel Blackstock are splitting up after 26 years of marriage. In a joint statement released on Monday, August 3, the two said they had been separated for several months but they would continue working together.

"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other," Reba and Narvel's statement read, "They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time." It's unclear if the former couple has or will file for divorce.

Reba and Narvel got married in 1989 in a private ceremony on a boat in Lake Tahoe. They are parents to a son, 25-year-old race car driver Shelby Blackstock. Narvel is also a father to three children from a previous relationship, including Kelly Clarkson's husband Brandon Blackstock.

Back in March, Reba told PEOPLE that she was missing Narvel while she was in Nashville and he was working in L.A. When asked who was the last person who said "I love you" to her, the "Going Out Like That" songstress mentioned Narvel. "[He] told me he loved me last night when we talked on the phone. He's in Los Angeles on business and I'm taking care of business here in Nashville. I miss him when we're apart," she shared. "We never leave each other without a kiss and 'I love you.' "
