Matt Bomer Signed on for 'The Magnificent Seven'

The 'White Collar' alum joins Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt in the remake of the 1960 western film.

AceShowbiz - Matthew Bomer has joined the cast of "The Magnificent Seven", a remake of the classic 1960 western film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bomer will star alongside A-listers such as Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt.

The film centers on a woman (Haley Bennett), who hires a disparate group of gunslingers to protect her town from rampaging bandits that are led by a robber baron. Bomer will star as the woman's husband, a man who tries to stand up to the robber baron.

Bomer will join the cast which includes Washington who plays a bounty hunter, Pratt who portrays a magician turned gambler, Vincent D'Onofrio who stars as a mountain man who used to be a killer, Wagner Moura as a caballero, Ethan Hawke as a sharpshooting war deserter and Jason Momoa as one of the villains.

Antoine Fuqua directs the movie while John Lee Hancock rewrites the script which was originally written by "True Detective" writer Nic Pizzolatto. It is scheduled for a release on January 13, 2017.

Bomer used to star on "White Collar" and "The Normal Heart". He will be seen on big screen in "Magic Mike XXL" and "The Nice Guys".
