Disney's remakes of classic children's fairytales continue to grow with the addition of "Jack and the Beanstalk". The Mouse House is working on a new take on the beloved stock character based on "a detailed outline" by "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan.
According to Deadline, Gillian eyes "Beanstalk" as a possible directing vehicle. He will produce it along with Mark Johnson. Thomas Schnauz who has won two Emmys writing for Gillian's hit TV show and its spin-off "Better Call Saul" is tapped to pen the script.
The classic tale was most recently turned into a movie by Warner Bros. in "Jack the Giant Slayer". It was directed by Bryan Singer and led by Nicholas Hoult. Jack later popped up in Disney's "Into the Woods" with Daniel Huttlestone playing the character.
Disney's other fairytale adaptations include "The Jungle Book", "Beauty and the Beast (2017)", "Dumbo", "Mulan", and "Winnie the Pooh (2017)". They join "Alice in Wonderland", "Maleficent", and "Cinderella" which all have been released.
