Neil Patrick Harris stripped down to his Y-front underwear during the 2015 Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22. Neil imitated a scene from "Birdman" and a famous line from "Whiplash".

When producers went on a search to find the "How I Met Your Mother" star, they found him in front of his dressing room wearing a robe and his robe was stuck to the door. Neil then decided to take it off, walking through the hallway by wearing only a pair of white undies. While walking to the stage, he passed through a slew of reporters at the hallway. At one point, he passed "Whiplash" star Miles Teller who was playing drums. The host then turned back to Miles only to say, "Not my tempo." It was the line of Best Supporting Actor winner J.K. Simmons' character Terence Fletcher in "Whiplash".

Neil then stood in front of his microphone and received huge applause from the audience. "Acting is a noble profession," he told the audience, "And the future of the profession is in good hands with young actor like next two presenters, please welcome the radiant Margot Robbie and my favorite drummer Miles Teller."

During the opening number, Neil performed "Moving Pictures" with Anna Kendrick, who reprised her role as Cinderella in "Into the Woods". They were joined by Jack Black who performed "The Rap" which was Meryl Streep's song in the movie.
