The upcoming 87th Academy Awards has booked more artists into its growing list of performers with the latest addition is Jennifer Hudson. The Oscar and Grammy-winning singer and actress shared through a tweet, "I'm excited to announce that @TheAcademy has invited me to perform on the #Oscars on Feb. 22nd!"
Oscars' producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, meanwhile, confirmed in a statement, "We're creating several musical sequences for the Oscars and we couldn't be happier that our friend, Jennifer Hudson, will be performing in one of them." Hudson thus joins other previously announced performers, including Tim McGraw, Jack Black, Tegan and Sara, and Anna Kendrick.
In related news, it's been confirmed that John Travolta and Jennifer Aniston have also been added as award presenters for this year's annual awards show. Both stars joined other announced presenters, like Sienna Miller, Chris Pratt, Kerry Washington, and David Oyelowo.
This year's Oscars is slated to be staged on Sunday, February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Actor Neil Patrick Harris has been tapped to host the ceremony for the first time.
