Judy Greer Hints at Comedic Tone in 'Ant-Man'
Movie

The 'Jurassic World' star who plays Scott Lang's ex-wife in the upcoming superhero movie shares in a new interview that the cast 'did a lot of comedic improv.'

AceShowbiz - The highly-anticipated Marvel flick "Ant-Man" probably will have more comedic tone than it suggested in the teaser trailer. Judy Greer who plays Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-man's ex wife Maggie teases the movie in a new interview with IGN, saying that the cast members "did a lot of comedic improv" on set although she is not sure whether it makes into the final cut.

"I haven't seen it yet but there was a lot of comedy on set and we did a lot of comedic improv. I don't know what will end up in the movie, but yeah," she said when asked if there would be a pretty good amount of comedy in the film.

"So I've been learning about Marvel. But they treat us really well and I really like the risks they're taking with the comedy in their superhero movies kind of starting with 'Guardians of the Galaxy'," she commented on joining the Marvel world. "I'm friendly with James Gunn and I was so happy that Marvel allowed his personality and his voice to show through because he's one of the funniest guys I know."

"It's fun to see superheroes who aren't just kicking ass but are also fully formed characters. I think that's also why they're getting such great actors to play them, like real actors like Paul Rudd and Chris Pratt, character actors and not just pretty faces - not that there's anything wrong with that!" she added.

"Ant-Man" tells the story of Lang (Rudd) who has the power to shrink in size but increase in strength. Together with his mentor and the Ant-Man suit developer Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), they must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Also starring Evangeline Lilly as Pym's daughter and Corey Stoll as the villainous Yellowjacket, the Peyton Reed-directed movie will arrive in theaters in the U.S. on July 17.

Greer has another big project to be released this year. She next will be seen in "Jurassic World" with Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The adventure movie directed by Colin Trevorrow is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on June 12.
