The auditions continued on "American Idol" season 14. During a stop in Kansas City, judges Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban were amazed by Joey Cook, a blue-haired girl who plays the accordion and called it a squeeze box. The quirky girl thought "originality needs to be brought back into the mainstream and accordions need to be more than just polka music."

She sang "The King of Spain" and Keith loved her voice, declaring her his favorite. J.Lo commented, "You're so unique and you look like a little doll." Harry also liked her, but warned her that she's close to the end of novelty. The judges gave her three yes and sent her to Hollywood.

Big Ron Wilson who dubbed himself "Big Sexy" also earned a Golden Ticket. He sang Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" directly to J.Lo, prompting the other two judges to talk about food and jokingly heading out for barbecue. When they returned, Harry advised Big Ron to balance his showmanship with his voice.

Alexis Gomez, the self-described "hippie Mexican hillbilly," has an O.K. package, but Keith wasn't into her voice. Though so, with two yes from Harry and J.Lo, she was sent to Hollywood.

Ellen Petersen who plays a banjo, meanwhile, managed to get a seal of approval from all three judges. Harry praised her for not overplaying her instrument. On her way out, the judges asked her to play the "Beverly Hillbillies" theme and Harry and Keith sang along with her.

Anton Bushner is a big fan of Keith and sang Keith's song "Tonight I Wanna Cry". "I absolutely love you," Harry said, "I like the way you stand. I like the way you show respect for Keith." J.Lo loved his "real sweet voice." The 19-year-old guy got a Golden Ticket.

Also making it into the next round were Ashley Lusk, Josh Sanders, Casey Thrasher and Stephanie Gummelt among others. A total of 37 people got Golden Tickets during the auditions in Kansas City.
