Eddie Murphy Refuses to Do 'Beverly Hills Cop IV' Unless the Script Is 'Incredible'
Movie

The actor, who's expected to reprise his role as Axel Foley in the fourth 'Beverly Hills Cop' film, says he's not doing a 's**ty' movie just to make some paper.

AceShowbiz - "Beverly Hills Cop IV" is apparently not going to start filming anytime soon although it already has a 2016 release date. Eddie Murphy, who's expected to reprise his role as Axel Foley, recently discussed the progress of the project in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying the script's still in the works and he'd decided not to do the movie unless the script is "really incredible."

"They're still trying to get that script right," Murphy said, referring to scriptwriters Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec who also penned "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol". "I'm not doing a 'Beverly Hills Cop' unless they have a really incredible script."

"I've read a couple things that look like they can make some paper. But I'm not doing a s**ty movie just to make some paper. The s**t got to be right," he added.

For now, the fourth "Beverly Hills Cop" movie is still scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on March 25, 2016. Brett Ratner is already on board as the director. The film is said to take place in Detroit during the "warmest winter on record."
