Marvel seems to continue to show animosity towards Fox over "The Fantastic Four" movie reboot. While Fox previously insisted that Marvel decision to cancel the comic series had nothing to do with the big-screen remake, the latter contradicts it by taking a jab at the film in the new issue of the current "Punisher" comic series.

In the first page, three Hollywood actors who resemble Miles Teller, Jamie Bell and Kate Mara are seen lounging together before a bomb goes off. In their conversation, they drop names like Trang, Mike and Johnny that sound a lot like the film's director Josh Trank and the new Johnny Storm depicter Michael B. Jordan.

The comic series about the iconic Marvel First Family will be closed on June 30, 2015 before the movie reboot arrives in theaters on August 7. It's reportedly Marvel's attempt to avoid giving promotion, however small it might be, to Fox, but the report was denied by Chairman and CEO of Fox, Jim Gianopulos.

"No, I don't think so," he said. "I don't know how that decision came about. The comic was not a huge seller. The Fantastic Four is a very established group of characters, and the film is awesome. Yeah, I think...I don't know how that played into their decision, but it wasn't...the book wasn't selling as well as others."

Alan Horn from Disney which purchased Marvel back in 2009 also seemed to back the statement. He called the cancellation a "fully independent decision." He added, "By the way, I didn't even know about it. I mean, honestly, we don't even [shrugs his shoulders]."

Marvel and Fox are seemingly feuding over "X-Men" as well. Marvel's comic author Chris Claremont once said the company no longer allowed their writers to create new characters for "X-Men" graphic novel in an effort to stop giving Fox more toy to play with on-screen in the mutant cinematic universe.
