The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named Kelsey Grammer's daughter Greer Grammer as Miss Golden Globe 2015. The 22-year-old actress, who graduated from the University of Southern California, will help hand out statuettes to the winners during the 72nd annual prize-giving event.

"I screamed and I jumped up and down," she says of her reaction when she was told that she got the honor. "I was just so happy when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association reached out to me this year. It was such a dream come true."

Her dad and mom, Barrie Buckner, were as thrilled as her when learning of the good news. She tells PEOPLE, "I called them separately and my mom was over the moon and I had to tell her not to tell anybody, because I know that she would have called everyone right off the bat, and same with my dad. They're so proud. They're so excited to see me on stage. I can't wait."

Greer, who stars as Lissa Miller on MTV's series "Awkward", joins Sosie Bacon (daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick), Sam Fox (son of Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan) and Rumer Willis (daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis) who served as Golden Globe assistants in the past.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return as the hosts of the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, which will air live on NBC at 8 P.M. ET on January 11.
