Cecily Strong is tapped to headline the upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner. The "Saturday Night Live" star is scheduled to host the annual event traditionally attended by Mr. President, the First Lady, and a number of Hollywood powerhouse stars on April 25, 2015.

"Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent," WHCA president Christi Parsons said in an email to White House correspondents. "In the 82-year history of our dinner, she'll be the fourth woman to serve in this role."

She is the first woman to host the star-studded gala since Wanda Sykes in 2009. The other female hosts in the past are Paula Poundstone and Elayne Boosler. This year, Joel McHale served as an entertainer May 3 at the Washington Hilton.

Cecily's father, Bill Strong, was the Associated Press Bureau chief in the Illinois Statehouse.
