Anne Hathaway decided to rank her most embarrassing moments on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday, November 3. Jimmy Fallon first asked her about honoring her "Interstellar" co-star Matthew McConaughey at the 28th American Cinematheque Award last month.
Anne said she started freaking out when realizing that other presenters like Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner and Sandra Bullock were sharing charming stories with Matthew. She explained, "I thought, 'Just get it together, you can do this. You've written a speech, it's not as funny as the other girls', but it's heartfelt, you can do it!' I go to say my first line ... the teleprompter broke. And I was like, 'You got to be kidding me!' "
When asked if the incident was embarrassing for her, the "Enchanted" actress replied, "Well, it was embarrasing but the thing about me and embarrassment is you have to remember that it all happens on a scale. And so if you think about the embarrassment scale one to 10: one is just like being a person walking down the street, and 10 is, for me, co-hosting the Oscars with James Franco."
She continued, "Which, by the way, is only tied with being honored to accept an Oscar whilst wearing a dress that I knew made it look like my nipples were erect. So here's the thing, if that's a 10, [the Matthew speech] was like a 4."
Jimmy laughed and said, "I forgot about that dress, that's the best." Anne then responded, "I can't forget about it. It haunts me still."
Anne gave eight for another embarrassing moment she had when showing up at Matthew's house for a surprise party on the wrong day.
Anne's upcoming movie "Interstellar", also starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain and Mackenzie Foy, is set to hit U.S. theaters on November 7.
